Mohsin Baig case: Islamabad High Court issues contempt notice to FIA director

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday heard the case of senior journalist Mohsin Baig and issued a contempt of court notice to the director of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing for abuse of power in each case.
During the hearing, Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (CJ) Athar Minallah asked the FIA official to read the lines from which the agency had taken defamatory remarks. He read out a sentence in which Murad Saeed was defamed. Justice Athar asked why only Mohsin Baig was arrested when there were four people in the program.
Inspector Sajid Cheema said that the pistol used by the journalist was to be recovered, to which Mohsin Baig’s lawyer replied that the pistol was already in police custody. Mohsin Baig said that it did not matter if he was remanded for another 15 days. ۔
Prime Minister Imran Khan was met by Advocate General Islamabad Niazullah Niazi and briefed him on the case of journalist Mohsin Baig. PM Imran Khan said that law is equal for all and the opposition has no agenda to criticize the government.
